We are very sad to share this news with all of the fans of Julia Meade. Julia passed away Monday, May 16, 2016 at her home in New York City, peacefully while asleep. Thanks to all of you for your comments and love. Julia loved her web site and Facebook fan club page. We will continue to post photos every week on that page, and will be adding new content to this site periodically.

Julia Meade, a theatrical, motion picture and television actress, is also well known as a frequent television and print commercial spokesperson. She has appeared in ads for a variety of products on shows such as Playhouse 90, Your Hit Parade and Talk of the Town, and in such publications as Life, Look and TV Guide.

Called America's first household name, she was seen weekly from 1953 to 1967 on The Ed Sullivan show in a Motorama format showing off dream cars of the 50s and 60s such as Lincoln and Mercury.

Her movies include Pillow Talk, in which Rock Hudson sings a song to her at the piano, Tammy Tell Me True with Sandra Dee, and ZOTZ!, which she stars in with Tom Poston.
